AGSM MBA ranked top in Australia

The AGSM MBA is the leading full-time program in Australia and 36th in the world, according to the Financial Times (UK) 2010 ranking of the top 100 MBA global programs.

This is the 11th consecutive year the AGSM program, delivered by the Australian School of Business (ASB) at the University of New South Wales, has ranked in the top 100. For the past four years, the program has been in the top 50.

Notably in this year’s survey, the AGSM MBA program was ranked 10th in the world for international mobility and international experience, reflecting the growing international reputation of the Australian School of Business, according to Acting Dean, Professor Wai Fong Chua.

“This affirms our position as the top MBA program in Australia, and one of the leaders in the rapidly growing South East Asian region,” Professor Chua said.

The main driver of the overall ranking score is the career success of alumni, especially salary progression. Other areas of strength for the AGSM MBA are value for money, career progress of alumni and aims achieved by the alumni.

“The result consolidates the reputation of the AGSM MBA as the ‘must-have’ postgraduate business qualification to take to the marketplace,” Professor Chua said.

Last week also marked the arrival of a full cohort of 68 new students starting the full-time program.

The calibre of the students admitted to the program, measured by their GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) scores is the highest for many years said Professor Chris Adam, Associate Dean of Postgraduate Programs at the ASB.

“They come from more than 20 countries, from many different industries, and have a great deal of managerial work experience. They provide a high quality and richly diverse resource for learning from each other as well as from our teaching staff.”
